How Adaptive Learning Works
Curious Maths adapts practice using the learner's curriculum context and verified practice history. It is a deterministic learning system, not an AI chatbot deciding grades or school outcomes.

Starting Point
The learner chooses or is recommended a curriculum concept. Curious Maths checks the learner's grade and subscription entitlement before issuing a practice problem.
Three Practice Phases
Recognition asks learners to identify correct reasoning, Structuring asks them to arrange reasoning, and Thinking asks them to produce mathematical steps. Server-side progression prevents a modified browser from simply skipping locked phases.
What The System Remembers
Verified attempts contribute to progress, skill/adaptive state, mastery signals, streaks, and learning recommendations. The immutable attempt history remains separate from summary statistics so learning records can be audited and recalculated when necessary.
What Adaptive Does Not Mean
Adaptive learning does not mean the system knows everything about a learner or can diagnose ability. It uses activity available inside Curious Maths to decide what practice is likely to be useful next.
Free And Pro
The adaptive mechanism remains the same in principle for both plans. Free learners practise the selected Foundation topics available for their grade. Pro learners can practise the full set of mapped topics for their grade.
